Current Library Services Overview

Beginning August 23, 2021, the Henry Madden Library will be open with full services for Fresno State students, faculty/staff, and the public. Fall semester hours are (holidays excepted):

  • Monday -Thursday 7:45 a.m. to midnight
  • Friday 7:45 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • Saturday 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • Sunday: noon to midnight 

Food and Beverages

NO FOOD or eating is allowed in any library study spaces at this time. Starbucks remains open, with only grab-n-go food options. Please enjoy your meals outdoors or at the University Student Union. (Special event exceptions may be requested through library administration.) Beverages are allowed in the library; mask up between sips.

Virtual Services

The library’s virtual services will also be available throughout the fall semester. The popular 24/7 librarian chat feature is also available for students and faculty working remotely, as are Zoom, email, and phone consultations. 

Paging Services

Students, faculty, and staff can request materials from our collections through the OneSearch feature, and will be notified by email when items are ready to pick up. Learn how to request books and media through our paging service. The stacks will be open for browsing starting August 9th. 

Tech Lending

Tech Lending items can be requested through our website and be picked up at the desk. We have a large number of new devices for students this fall, including high-performance laptops. 

CSU+ and Interlibrary Loan Services

The CSU+ and Interlibrary Loan Services have also restarted, and items can be picked up at the library.

Face Coverings

Protective face coverings are required for all students, faculty and staff, as well as for all visitors to the Fresno State Campus. 

Building Partners

Our library building partners such as DISCOVERe, The Learning Center, Services for Students with Disabilities, Starbucks, and the Graduate Study Center will also be available. Please refer to their web pages for further information.
