Day of Giving Visualization Studio
A visualization studio is a space with endless possibilities.
A large, interactive digital wall like this one from NASA would enhance the learning experience on campus at Fresno State. It would offer faculty additional teaching tools while providing students and researchers the opportunity to work with the latest technology that academic libraries have to offer.
This Day of Giving, Thursday, November 1, donors have the opportunity to fund a brand-new visualization studio for the Henry Madden Library.
“We are looking to the future of learning and innovative thinking, and how the Library can play a key role in providing the right tools,” said Del Hornbuckle, dean of library services, “This new technology would create more opportunities for our students and faculty from every department to explore and grow.”
One example of how this technology is advancing academic studies can be found in the Visualization Studio in the library at the University of Calgary. Researchers were able to use the display wall’s ability to work with high resolution imagery in order to find new details otherwise hidden in ancient manuscripts.
“The research happening at Fresno State is already unique to the rest of the world,” said Dean Hornbuckle, “Imagine what kind of discoveries and advancements we could make with this kind of technology at our fingertips?”
