How to Create a Story with ArcGIS StoryMaps
In this step-by-step guide you will learn how to create and publish an ArcGIS StoryMap from scratch—choose a cover layout, design or apply a custom theme, and add rich content blocks (images, galleries, video, audio, embeds). You’ll also build interactive maps (including Express Map), use Swipe and Timeline, create immersive Sidecar slides with Media Actions, and make a Map Tour with geotagged photos. Pause anytime and follow along at your own pace.

Troubleshooting assistance:
- Sign-in issues? Make sure you’re logged into your browser with your @mail.fresnostate.edu account and choose the Fresno State Organization Login (not the ArcGIS login).
- Embed won’t load? Some sites block embedding—use Icon card mode or link out.
- Map layers missing in the story? Align sharing levels for the web map/layers with the StoryMap’s share setting.
- Still stuck? Reach out to the IT Service Desk or GIS support (links above).
