Reflection Two for Hiromi’s Hands
This analysis was accomplished in December 2023 using the following prompt template .
Analysis Summary
This book is written from the first point of view and connects to the theme of the book because it is a true story. Within the book Japanese writing is gibberish. This is the problematic theme in the story. The cover depicts a Japanese chef with Japanese food and we see a bonsai tree and it shows how the author has a limited idea of what Japanese culture looks like.
Impact Assessment
This would impact my students because it gives them a false image of what Japanese culture looks like. These would be racial stereotypes. This would be harmful because my student could be talking about this book and ignorantly spread the wrong information.
