Reflection One for Carla's Sandwich
This analysis was accomplished in April 2024 using the following prompt template .
Analysis Summary
This book can be problematic because everything you eat is related to your cultural background. For example, if you are Mexican are you always going to eat burritos for lunch? In this story, you can see that the main character is white, so the author tends to a stereotypical meal for the white culture.
Impact Assessment
This text might impact my focal student by being true to yourself and doing the things that you like, even when others don't understand. My focal student brings his own lunch every day, and sometimes kids say eww to the foods he brings. With this book he can see that if you are happy with the foods you bring, the opinions of others would not matter. It can also help other students realize that judging others for what they like is not allowed at any time.
