Reflection One for The Rainbow Fish
This analysis was accomplished in December 2023 using the following prompt template .
Analysis Summary
In the rainbow fish the main character feels very entitled because he is different from everyone else. He has an inflated ego. He does not want to socialize with others who do not meet his standards physically. He was very prideful of his uniqueness/looks at the beginning of the story but he then gives up his uniqueness to fit in with everyone else. Rather than teaching children to embrace their differences this book is teaching children that they have to be like everyone else to fit in.
Impact Assessment
My student may see themselves in this book because if she sees someone who feels “entitled” or being disrespectful to others she will step in. She has a heart of gold and will do her best to bring peace and love between friends.
